Although the heavy rains stayed at bay MOST of the day, it was not the beautiful tropical weather I had hoped for. BUT the heavy clouds gave us the chance to see some amazing sites

One of the main stops we made this dreary day was the El Yunque rain forest. When we arrived we were told to be quick about it ... the rain forest would be closing early that day because of rain (I'm not even making that up).

Since we were practically washed away in the rain on Monday, we headed back to Old San Juan to finish up with the quaint part of town.

My guide book described a little known place with natural warm / hot springs on the way to Ponce. Since we were headed there anyway, why not? The water was hot and perfect and the natural shower was a great massage.

We were excited to visit the second largest town in Puerto Rico, located in the south part of the island. The saying about town - Ponce is Ponce - pretty much sums it up. It's pretty, but mostly sleepy. Oh well.

Album: There's One Thing We Can Say About the Dry Forest - It's Hot

So when people day, "Yes, it's hot ... but it's a dry heat," you can be sure they haven't been to the Guanica Dry Forest which gave new meaning to the word hot. It's right on the Caribbean, though ... so it does have that going for it.
