I love the Wizard of Oz. It’s my favorite movie - ever. Each summer, at Wolftrap, the National Symphony Orchestra plays the musical score while the movie is shown on large screens on the stage and lawns. Don and I went to see it a few years ago, the first year they held this event. The next summer I was hoping they’d do the same thing for The Sound of Music, but they did the Wizard of Oz again. And then again the next year.
I think it’s the 4th time they have performed this particular movie’s score. We had friends planning to check it out, so Don and I decided to join them tonight. The lawn tickets are only $10 and, really, you can never see the Wizard of Oz too many times.
On top of that, Wolftrap is just fun - tucked into the woods and nature-y. And you can bring in your own food and drinks so that’s a huge plus.
Last night was miserable weather-wise - torrential downpours on and off all night. I hope tonight is better (meaning drier).
